Common questions
Straight answers about your Bracken account, progress photos, free backup export, Pro depth, and switching apps.
What does the free plan include?
Unlimited injections, weight, and check-ins; medication level chart and cycle phases scaled to your dosing interval; weight logbook and Weight → Periods correlation; dosing calculators; insights progress charts and clinical benchmark; titration planner on Shots; one pattern-based report per month; shareable story cards from your log; caregiver read-only share links; progress photos on your device only (never uploaded); encrypted JSON / .dpe and full spreadsheet CSV anytime. Shots, weight, and check-ins are stored in your Bracken account on every platform (web, iOS, Android). Sign in on any device to pick up where you left off. No ads.
What is Bracken Pro?
Pro is optional depth on top of free tracking: Prepared (visit-ready PDFs and visit prep), Foresight (weekly briefing, 7-day outlook, and unlimited rich reports), and Wins (auto milestones and next-up progress). Share story cards stay free. Monthly, annual, or 5-year pro.
Where does my data live?
Shots, weight, and check-ins are stored in your Bracken account so the web app, iOS app, and Android app all show the same history when you sign in. Progress photos stay on your device only and are never stored on Bracken servers. Export Settings → Backup anytime (free) to move photos to a new phone or browser. Pro adds visit PDFs, unlimited reports, and auto wins.
How do I back up or export my data?
Settings → Backup is free on every plan: backup ZIP (log + progress photos on this device), password-protected .dpe, or full spreadsheet CSV. Tap Export, then use the share sheet to save to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Files, or email. Bracken does not connect to your cloud; you choose where the file goes.
Where do progress photos go?
Progress photo files stay on your device, in your phone's Bracken album or in private browser storage on desktop. Bracken never stores them on our servers. Export Settings → Backup (free) to move them to a new phone or browser.
Browser vs mobile app, what's different?
Same Bracken account everywhere: web, iOS, and Android. Shots, weight, and check-ins sync when you sign in. Progress photos stay on your device. Native adds Apple Health / Health Connect weight import, app lock, offline-friendly logging, and dose reminders.
Can I import from Glapp, Shotsy, or Happy Scale?
Yes, after signup, open Settings → Import. Upload a Glapp Data Export ZIP (or CSV/JSON), Shotsy JSON/CSV, Happy Scale weight CSV, or a spreadsheet. You preview counts before each merge; duplicate dates are skipped. No export? Use the Screenshot tab.
What if my old app has no export file?
Settings → Import includes experimental screenshot import, on-device text recognition for weight, shot, and symptom list pages. Apps like DoseDiary have no export yet; screenshot OCR is a last resort when CSV/JSON/ZIP isn't available. Review and fix every row before saving, export files are far more accurate when you can get them.
Is my health information private?
We don't show ads or sell your data. Shots, weight, and check-ins are stored in your Bracken account. Progress photos stay on your device and are never stored on Bracken servers. Export a backup anytime. You can delete your account anytime.
What happens if I change phones or browsers?
Sign in on the new device: your shots, weight, and check-ins are already in your Bracken account. Progress photos do not follow automatically. On the old device, export a backup ZIP and save it to any cloud you use (iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc.). On the new device, download that ZIP and import it under Settings → Backup to restore photos locally.
Is Bracken still rolling out?
Yes, we're in a gradual release and ship fixes often. If something feels rough, send feedback from Settings in the app. Switching from another tracker (paid or free)? Import your data, then get 30 days of Pro on the honor system; email support@getbracken.com with proof if you want us to match longer remaining paid time (up to 12 months). Feedback thank-you codes are personal and sent in-app, not posted on the website.
Does Bracken replace medical advice?
No. It's a personal tracking tool to help you notice patterns. Always follow your prescriber's guidance for dosing and care.
How does the shot-week pattern chart work?
After a few check-ins, Bracken averages how hunger, nausea, energy, and other scores land on each day after your dose, scaled to your dosing interval, so you can see if day 2 is usually harder than day 5 for you.
Can I use Bracken with compounded GLP-1s?
Yes. Log compounded therapy, concentration, and doses like any other GLP-1. Supply tracking, label scan helpers, and reconstitution calculators help count remaining doses from vials.
Does Bracken support biweekly or custom dosing?
Yes. Set your dosing interval in Settings, weekly, every 14 days, microdose schedules, and more. Reminders, streaks, level phases, and symptom cycle charts scale to that rhythm instead of assuming one shot per week.
Can I share progress with a partner or caregiver?
Yes. Create a read-only caregiver link under Settings → Sharing. You can hide weight or medication details if you only want them to see schedule and check-in trends.
